Description: Taking the mystery out of Natural Fabric Dyeing, this class will give you experience with many different floral and plant based color extractions and how an array of substrates will take the color. Learn how to shift colors and pre-mordant fabric as you experiment with hibiscus, rose, turmeric and hollyhocks, and many other flowers. You will receive a supply of varying substrates to dye, and are encouraged to begin a Botanical Dyeing reference guide as a reminder of the results.

Dyeing Class

Kit Contents: A wide variety of high quality Prepared For Dye cottons, silks, velvets and other substrates to see how each plant responds to the different fibers.
A collection of dried and powdered natural plant based dyes, selected to give a nice variety of colors and extraction experiences.
A selection of mordants and color shifters to maximize the dyeing experience.
Gloves, mask, burners and pots. A dozen pint size mason jars.

All Kits are Payable to the Teacher. They are not included when you register.
